Valid passports for both partners
A sworn statement of single civil status
Completion of a legal questionnaire before the ceremony
A licensed Costa Rican lawyer or notary to officiate and file the marriage
Once the ceremony is complete, your marriage will be registered with the Civil Registry of Costa Rica. You’ll receive an official marriage certificate that can be used internationally.
